Acanthastrea bowerbanki, often referred to simply as "Bowerbanki," is a stunning large polyp stony (LPS) coral that is prized for its oversized fleshy polyps and bold, vibrant coloration. Known for its striking reds, oranges, and greens, this coral is a showpiece that adds a dramatic flair to any reef aquarium. Its relatively hardy nature makes it suitable for intermediate and advanced aquarists.

Care Requirements:

• Feeding: Primarily photosynthetic but thrives with regular target feedings of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, or chopped seafood 2–3 times weekly.
• Propagation: Fragging involves cutting between polyps with a precision saw. Frags should be allowed to recover in a low-stress environment with stable water parameters.

Notes:

• Aggression: High. Can extend sweeper tentacles to protect its space and sting neighboring corals.
• Placement: Lower tank areas or the substrate with ample spacing from other corals to prevent contact.
